I am joyfully married to my high school sweet heart, and we have five vivacious children – two who are college age, and three still at home. I am a person of faith. My faith in God is a steady anchor in this swirling sea called life.
I live in Texas, enjoy cycling and running. I love to fly fish and ski in the mountains of Colorado.
I discovered my passion for entrepreneurship when I helped a friend build a company from the ground up. In the process, we became even better friends, and learned a lot about ourselves, our customers and the marketplace. Aligned in key values, and with the help of many others, we built our business upon the principles of honesty and integrity.
As we developed our business, we sought protection for our innovative methods through the US Patent and Trademark Office. We applied for and received multiple patents covering our technology and, even though we were a small company, became innovation leaders in the market place.
Upon selling our company and then settling with alleged patent infringers, I began to focus on investing. I am an active participant in a Angel Investing group, and have also built a real estate portfolio of rental properties.
My experience with family, business and life has clarified the importance of leadership in everything I do. Leadership is influence, nothing more, nothing less. Leadership requires intentional living, and to live with intention, we must lead. I feel so strongly about leadership that I have become an Independent Certified Coach, Teacher and Speaker with the John Maxwell Team.
This is my personal blog. I’ll typically post two or three times per week. I intend for it to be a conduit through-which I can help others. I will focus on leadership, innovation and productivity. I will also share about my investment real estate investing – lessons learned and best practices that I’ve discovered. I will write about these topics and others as I discover ideas and information that could help you in your life and business.
